以前、持っていたオリジナルの998よりもサイズ感がタイトな印象を受けましたので、普段のサイズよりもハーフサイズアップをオススメしたいです。シュータンの仕様やマテリアルがパターンごとに違っていたりとオリジナルとは異なるカッコよさがあります。

正直あまり998は気にしていなかったのですが、妻の言った「かっこいい！」の一言で気になり購入に至りました(笑)。実際に届いた実物を見ると確かにスラっとして細身で、デザインも複雑ではなくシンプルで、配色もカッコいいです。履き心地は硬めなのですが、990v6や991v2とは違う弾むような心地よい路面からの反発力を感じます。サイズ感ですが、990v6、991v2、993、1000、1400、1500、1700等々と同じサイズで問題ありませんでした。気に入ったので今度は違うカラーの購入を検討しています。

New Balance's signature 990 series was launched in 1982 as an on-road running shoe.
Developed using the latest technology, it was released for $100, a very expensive price at the time.
It became a hot topic when its advertisements at the time boasted that it achieved "990 points out of a maximum of 1000," and it has since continued to evolve over 14 generations, with the 995, 996, 997, 998, 999, 990, 991, 992, 993, 990v3, 990v4, 990v5, and 990v6.
Since its original release, this series has always been manufactured in factories in the United States and is a legendary part of the brand, embodying New Balance craftsmanship and functionality.
This iteration of the classic silhouette's subtle updates with unique 990 minor changes are the result of 40 years of technical development and continue to implement the original instructions of New Balance owner Jim Davis, cementing its place as a premier sneaker.
