The "996" was the third model in the "99X" series and debuted in 1988 as a Made in USA product.
It was created as a running shoe for paved surfaces.
By combining "ENCAP" and "C-CAP", the excellent cushioning functionality and perfect design have solidified the reputation of the 990 series.
It has been loved for a long time not only as a running shoe but also for everyday wear, and has become a long-selling model that continues to this day as the standard for New Balance.
The premium hairy suede and mesh upper is dressed in an "NB Navy" color, with neutral-toned foxing (heel area) providing a soft contrast.
A textile tongue label and sockliner complete the design.

デディコレクションの996ですがデザインの特徴はヒールカウンターのベージュカラーです。カウンタリーエンフォーサーと同色系となる事でヒール周りがシンプルに見えてパッと見996と分からない感じがとても気に入ってます。一つ残念な点は私の個体はインソールの下に膨らみがある事です。サイドパネルが3枚重なった部分が折り込まれているからでしょうか。
